When we launch Mosquito Squad in Aberdeen next summer, we will be proudly bringing America’s most trusted mosquito and tick control solution to South Dakota.

We are proud to call South Dakota home and will always be committed to helping make our customer’s outdoor living spaces safer and more comfortable by dramatically reducing the number of mosquitoes.

From time to time on this blog, we hope to highlight news from communities we serve that highlight just what a great place it is we all call home.

The video below is one such moment. It tells the story of what would become the world-famous pheasant sandwiches served to American Troops during the height of World War IIĀ at a newly opened Canteen in the Milwaukee Depot, downtown Aberdeen.

What an amazing spirit of serving Aberdeen showed these troops from around the nation – enjoy the video!

If you would like to protect your backyard from the annoyance and danger of mosquitoes and ticks, contact Mosquito Squad of Eastern South Dakota today at 605-725-5252.

A wild story from CBS New York came out this week. Apparently there is a new breed of mosquito plaguing the City that Never Sleeps – one that breeds in the humid warmth of the city’s sewer system year round.

This particular breed, then, comes into people’s homes through cracks and vents at bites at night.

“They trapped 150 mosquitoes in the basement in a 24-hour period coming from underground and into the basement and up in the house through the air vents and it’s the same story as the other brownstones on this block,” one homeowner told CBS New York.

This breed is also particularly blood thirsty.

“They’re hungry,” said one resident, pointing out bites on her child. “Three on this ear. One on his cheek. One on his neck, and there are some on his arms going up his arm.”

Luckily we’re in the clear for mosquitoes for now in our part of the country. However, it is never too early to begin planning on how you will protect your family next year from dangerous outdoor pests. Contact Mosquito Squad today or take a look at a previous post that highlights the 3 P’s of Striking Early: Protection, Priority, Price.
